Getting started with My Manchester
My Manchester is a digital platform for Manchester students. It connects you to all the tools you need for your studies and essential services, such as your timetable, email, Blackboard, Library account and many more useful apps.
Here’s a quick guide to help get you started and understand the main functions of your My Manchester student platform.
From the front page of My Manchester you can access Blackboard, your online learning system, by going to ‘Tools’ and then ‘Blackboard’ on the left hand navigation.
You can access your Library account, change your PIN and search for books from the ‘My Library’ tab. You’ll find this under the ‘My University’ section on the left hand navigation (see video below).
The Student Support and Services menu on My Manchester provides links to advice and guidance covering all aspects of University life, including health and wellbeing, learning support and information, and guidance relevant to your programme of study or research.
Select the ‘Student Support and Services’ menu in the left-hand navigation of My Manchester. Watch the video below for guidance on how to navigate the section:
The student system is where you’ll go to confirm your attendance as a new student. It also holds your academic records, finance information and more. Look for ‘Student Systems’ under ‘Tools’ in the left hand navigation (see video below).
You can find your timetable by clicking on ‘My Timetable’ in the left hand navigation. This will take you to a login page where you’ll need to enter your student username and password to access your timetable (see video below).
You can change or update your personal information by going to the ‘My Profile’ tab in the left hand navigation. Make sure all your details are correct and up to date (see video below).
You’ll need to upload a suitable photo of yourself for your student card before you arrive at Manchester, which you can do in the Manchester Portal.
